In the spirit of a new year I wanted to share ten points to bear in mind as you progress through the year. These are basic principles that I have practiced and have been a blessing in my life.
Be Grateful
Thankfulness breeds happiness and contentment. Gratefulness infuses every moment with meaning and value
Be Generous
Give….no matter how little you think you have, there is always someone else that has a lot less. Giving is not just about money; a smile, a warm hug, a gentle cortesy. These don’t cost any money but have the potential to be priceless.
Be Genuine
It is not enough just to be honest. Genuine is being true to yourself and others.
Be Positive
Every party has pooper, but don’t let that pooper be you. Positive thoughts and actions bring results. Negativism is defeatism.
Be Calm
Stay calm, cool and collected in all situations. We spend 90% of the time worrying and stressing about things that only happen 10% of the time. Relax even the 10% works out at the end any way.
Be Proactive
Don’t wait around for things to happen. Go make your mark. Don’t settle do something great.
Be Healthy
With so much information about nutrition and health, you are what you eat has become more meaningful. Take control of your health. Eat right and exercise. Good health reduces stress and helps you sleep soundly at night.
Be Humble
Keep your feet firmly on the ground but keep reaching for the stars. The proud have a rough road ahead of them.
Travel
Things come and go, but memories last forever. If you can’t go overseas, go across town or another nearby state.
Be Adaptable
Situations may change and things may not be just right. So learn to adapt. Adapting is the art of accomplishing your goals regardless of circumstance.
I’ve only listed ten and obviously there are probably a million other thoughts that I could add. But nonetheless, these are pretty broad and inclusive. Make 2015 your best year ever. Remember there are two ways to go through life: sit around and wait for life to happen to you or you can go and make life what you want it to be.
Here is wishing you and your loved ones a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year!!
